Description
Initiation of this Project - Nov 2012 under the state plan and funding agency is State Government. This centre is useful in the information obtained from space-based technology system for welfare and improvement of animal husbandry sector of the state to develop and design strategies for a cost-effective solution to animal husbandry problems of state-based technology and its critical analysis as well as an extrapolation and also help to initiate and conduct research and development work for arriving at strategies for conservation of threatened species and improvement in production as well as productivity of livestock sector of the state using latest large geographical area covering space-based technology. Use of field and laboratory techniques that enable us to non-invasively acquire essential biological information from the geographical area. Assessment, documentation, and status reporting of domestic animal genetic resources. Coordinate and implement targeted interventions for prioritized domestic breeds and promote regional and international likes for technology transfer as well as effective management of animal genetic resources.
Activities:
- Centre became Network institute of IIRS- ISRO:- (IIRS-ISRO) Indian institute of remote sensing-Indian Space Research Organization, formed in 1969. Its prime application of EDUSAT satellite is tele-education at various levels i.e. school level/UG /PG level. The live and interactive mode of distance learning is available through the Internet without any cost to the user. The live and interactive sessions will be conducted by experts from IIRS-ISRO and other knowledge Institutions.
